Agenda items:

President Harris reminded everyone that the Florida Kiwanis District Convention (DCon) will be held August 4th - 7th at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. We have 7 members signed up to attend. Secretary Kathy announced that for the District elections, she and Harris will be Delegates-At-Large and Ruth Ann, John and Lindsey will be Delegates.

We have paused our efforts to do interclubs until John is ready to resume speaking engagements at the other clubs in the division. John is this year's Florida Kiwanis Foundation Trustee for Division 19. He has to make a presentation to each club in our division and we want to support him by having some of our members attend whenerver he is the speaker. Each of these will then also count as an Interclub for our club. As he is scheduled at other clubs we will be asking one or two of our members to attend. He has alrerady spoken to the our club, Lehigh Acres and Metro-McGregor clubs. Interclub credits also are received for members attending Division Council meetings and we received credits for DCM's sponsored by Fort Myers and SanCarlos Park.

Jim reported that the checvk for the first order of books for the upcoming year's Reading Rocks has been sent in. in order to limit tthe number of books delivered at one time, Harris will submit the second purchase order for payment as soon as the first order arrives.
Harris also asked for ideas for donasting the leftover books from this past year's program. Lucia suggested we might consider donating some of them to the Key Club for the Book Drive they plan on doing at their next Key Club Division Council Meeting in August.

Aktion Club will have a meeting at LARC on Tuesday. They are collecting ols tee shirts to use in making pul toys for dogs at the Humane Shelter.

Kathy asked if tyhe club was going to make a donation to the Caring Corner at this years District Convention. Jim made a motion that we donate $250. Jeff seconded the motion. The club approved the motion by voice vote.

Following the meeting everyone stayed to help fill 300 backpacks with school supplies. Love and Light Ministries then came by to pick them up to distribute them to homeless school children at their back-to-school event at the end of this month.

Our Meals On Wheels schedule has been changed from Tuesday to Wednesday for the remainder of the summer. Also, each delivery will now include two meals (Wednesday's and Thursday's). Jim covered it yesterday and Harris will do it this coming week. Our route currently delivers to 17 people and because we're doing two mmeals at a time, we could really use a second volunteer. If you are interested, please contact Harris.

John announced our Edison Kiwanis Hall passed all inspections so he will be able to apply for our Occupational License. Once that is done we can get the water turned on and the large metal Edison Kiwanis sign for the front of the building installed. However, he is going out bof town for the rest of the month so that will have to wait until he gets back.

Lucia (Key Club Division 19-A Lt Governor) announced that the Zone I (Lee and Collier counties) KCKC (Key Club Kickoff) will probably be at North Fort Myers High school. Also, they have already started planning for the Shoebox Project for Christmas.
