Harris announced April's Reading Rocks will be on Monday (April 11th) at 9:00 AM at North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts. Harris and Jim are signed up to read "Minnie's Easter Bonnet Parade". Following breakfast, all members in attendance helped put nameplates in all the books that will be distributed on Monday.

John is this year's Florida Kiwanis Foundation Trustee for Division 19. He has to make a presentation to each club in our division and we want to support him by having some of our members attend whenerver he is the speaker. Each of these will then also count as an Interclub for our club. As he is scheduled at other clubs we will be asking one or two of our members to attend. Already scheduled are Lehigh Acres on April 27th and Metro-McGregor on May 3rd.

The Science Fair Judging event at North Fort Myers Academy will be April 28th between 2:30 and 4:30 PM. This is right before their Elementary Science Fair Family Viewing Night (5-7 PM). Currently, Kathy, John, Linsey and Harris have signed up to judge.


Harris asked members to send him suggestions for speakers for our weekly meetings. Speaker Jessica Goodall suggested we contact the the Florida Lion's Club Eye Clinic in Bonita Springs

Jessica Goodall spoke to our club about Eva's Closet and Foundation whose mission is to provide assistance to people in need, regardless of situation or circumstance, without judgement. They fulfill this mission by serving more than 1,000 individuals each month who are suffering from homelessness, poverty, and other risk factors in Southwest Florida.
Our members can help by volunteering (sorting clothes, distributing food, etc.) or by donating items. Particularly neede are baby diapers, laundry detergent and toiletries. Click here for their wishlist.


We cover a Meals On Wheels route every Tuesday and Friday. Harris did last Tuesday's run and Harris and Jim will team up to do Friday's this week.
Drivers will be needed for the Tuesdays of May 3rd, 10th and 17th while Harris is away in Italy.

John will try to get the panic bar installed on the front door at Kiwanis Hall next week and the large metal Edison Kiwanis sign on the front of the building. Both Toms volunteered to help him. Tom Mere also said he will take care of the red ant colony in the freont of the hall.
