Agenda items:

John, Chuck, Jim and Harris attended the Read Across America Day Celebration at North Fort Myers Academy For The Arts on Wednesday (Dr Seuss's birthday). Each of them read a Dr Seuss book to two different classes of first or second graders. We spent about an hour there and read to a total of over 160 students. Both the kids and our members seemed to have really good time.

John is this year's Florida Kiwanis Foundation Trustee for Division 19. He has to make a presentation to each club in our division and we want to support him by having some of our members attend whenerver he is the speaker. Each of these will then also count as an Interclub for our club. As he is scheduled at other clubs we will be asking one or two of our members to attend.

The Science Fair Judging event at North Fort Myers Academy will be March 28th between 2:30 and 4:30 PM. This is right before their Elementary Science Fair Family Viewing Night (5-7 PM). Harris will be sending out a signup sheet.

Kathy announced that the Key Club at North Fort Myers High School will be sending six members to their Florida District Convention and would like our club to help subsidize the $300 per student cost. Linsey made a motion that we give them $100 per student (each student will pay $100 and the Key Club will fundraise the final $600) Tom Marks seconded the motion and the club approved it by voice vote.

Harris brought in 8 more pieces of baby clothing and Kathy added another 15 for Healthy Start. They are in desperate need of children clothes up to size 8. Harris will take them to the Metro-McGregor club (they work closely with Healthy Start)

John announced that he has gotten the panic bar door opener for our Kiwanis Hall. As soon as he and Tom Marks install it and a couple of exit lightts and batteries, he will be able to schedule a fire department inspection so we can get our occupational license and start holding our weekly meetings there (hopefully sometime in April).

Harris asked members to send him suggestions for speakers for our weekly meetings. Currently we have Jessica Goodall of Eva's Closet & Foundation scheduled to speak on April 7th. You can bring items for the sale to our meeting or contact Harris (239-939-4027) to arrange to have them picked up. Linse will be posting online notices to help publicize it.



Jim presented the Treasurer's reports for January and February. Copies can be viewed on our website. (Username is EdisonMember and password is 2Improving4Community)

Andrea will be checking into when the annual Teachers Appreciation Day will be this year at NFM Academy For The Arts. We plan on giving each teacher and support staff member an apple and some kind of card or certificate of appreciation.

The club will be holding a Yard Sale on Saturday, March 19th. You can bring items you want to donate to our meeting or call Harris (2390939-4027) to arrange to have them picked up.

We cover a Meals On Wheels route every Tuesday and Friday. Harris did last Tuesday's run and Linsey announced that Vern did the one on Friday.

Harris did the third and final reading of the proposed slate of officers and directors for 2022-2023.
