Agenda items:
John, Bill Bowlus and his wife and Harris all read "Star Wars - Phantom Menace" for Reading Rocks at North Fort Myers Academy For The Arts. In addition, Harris created a video of the story being read for the kindergarten students at Tice Elementary. Each student received a copy of the book to keep for themselves.

Kathy, John, Linsey, Chuck and Harris will attend the Division Council Meeting on Saturday (February 19th) at E.C.H.O. Farms. This will count as an interclub.
We hope to have our third interclub of the year next month at Lehigh when John is scheduled to be the speaker as Florida Kiwanis Foundation Trustee. We have reached out to the Greater Pine Island club to see if they still have any evening meetings. Also, we hope to replace one of our regular meetings with an interclub at the San Carlos Park club (they also meet on Thursday mornings).
The Science Fair Judging event at North Fort Myers Academy will be March 28th between 2:30 and 4:30 PM. This is right before their Elementary Science Fair Family Viewing Night (5-7 PM). Harris will be sending out a signup sheet.
Harris brought in old Kiwanis pins that we hope to give to Aktion Club members during Aktion Club Week
John announced that Kathy said that the Key Club meeting has been postponed until next week. It will be via Zoom. Contact Kathy if you would like to join the meeting.
Harris brought in 2 dozen "Onesies" (8 new and 16 gently used) for Healthy Start. They are in desperate need of children clothes up to size 8. In particular BABY clothes. Members who wish to donate either gently used or new clothers should bring them to the next meeting and Harris will take them to the Metro-McGregor club (they work closely with Healthy Start)
John announced that work on the occupational license for our Kiwanis Hall is moving forward. A fire department inspection will be held in about two weeks. Prior to that, John will need to acquire and install a pushbar exit device on our front door. Our goal is to start holding our weekly meetings there by April.
Chuck announced that he is getting maarried next month while on vacation in Maui. He will be moving to Georgia later this year.
Harris asked members to send him suggestions for speakers for our weekly meetings. He is currently working on getting someone from the Brain Endowment Bank (BEB)'s Brain Donor Program.
We cover a Meals On Wheels route every Tuesday and Friday. Harris did last Tuesday's run and Linsey announced that Vern did the one on Friday.
Harris did the first reading of the proposed slate of officers and directors for 2022-2023.
They are:
- President - Harris Segel
- President-elect - John Woolston
- Secretary - Kathy Woolston
- Treasurer - Jim Thompson
- Director - Dilmus Hogan
- Director - Linsey LaGasse
- Director - Tom Marks
- Director - Tom Mere
- Director - Ruth Ann
The annual meeting, when the vote will be taken, will be March 10th.
